Birr Parish Restoration Projects 2007
In 2001 the Parish Council carried out extensive restoration to St. Brendan’s Church. We now need to undertake the final stage in this process by attending to:
- The restoration of the ornate railings and the gates
- Restoration of cut-stone pier and wall
- Power washing of church and associated paintwork
Due to the passage of time we must also undertake major restoration work to the Church of the Annunciation in Carrig.
This will include:
- Replacing leaking lead valleys
- Sanding, polishing and sealing of block floor
- Upgrading of electrical system
- Repainting of Church
- Restoration of eight windows
- Re-ordering of Sanctuary area
The combined cost of both projects will be in the region of €186,000.
While we hesitate to impose on your generosity we know that many parishioners will wish to be associated with this project. We would be very grateful if you could return your donation by August 26th to any of the priests of the Parish by Sunday August 26th or place it in the Development Fund Box. You may also support this project through your regular contribution in the weekly ‘Development Fund’ envelope. Your donation may qualify for a tax refund under the Finance Act 2001 - see below for further details.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. We really appreciate it.
May God Bless You
