In January of this year Pope Francis blessed four pilgrim statues of the Sacred Heart which were to journey to the four provinces of Ireland visiting each diocese. For the past two weeks one of those statues has been visiting our Diocese of Killaloe. The pastoral area of Brendan will welcome the Sacred Heart Statue on Friday June 6th arriving at St. Brendan’s Church Birr where a Holy Hour @ 6pm will be conducted. The statue will rest in St. Brendan’s for veneration on Saturday June 7th with Morning Mass @ 10am and Benediction coinciding with the first Saturday of devotions. In the evening the statue will rest at St. Ita’s Church Coolderry beginning with Holy Hour @ 6pm and concluding with evening vigil Mass @ 8pm departing for Ballaghmore Church for morning Mass on Sunday June 8th @ 9.30am.
