Kevin Hayes, Ballinree, Crinkle, Birr, Co. Offaly, passed peacefully on June 30th,2025, in the wonderful care of Westmeath Hospice and previously The Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, after a short illness. Predeceased by his parents James and Frances.
He will be sadly missed by his brothers Liam and John, his sisters; Marie, Helen Dunne (Lorrha), Noeleen Kelly (Moate), Olive Byrne (UK), Patricia McMahon (Kildare) and Pauline Windle (UK), brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May he Rest In Peace. Reposing at Boyd’ s Funeral Home, Birr, on Wednesday from 5pm. – 7pm.
Removal on Thursday morning to arrive at St. Brendan’s Church, Birr at 10.45am. for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Clonoghill Cemetery, Birr. House Private please.

Johanna (Josie) Spain (née Corcoran)
June 19, 2025

Johanna (Josie) Spain (nee Corcoran) Ballaghboy, Shinrone, Birr, Co.Offaly and formerly Derrykeel, Kinnity, Birr, Co.Offaly died 14th of June 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband William (Willie), grandson Aidan King, her parents Jack and Ellen Corcoran, brother Billy and uncle Joe Corcoran. Forever will be sadly missed by her heartbroken daughters Mary (King), Helen and Bernadette, her sister Anne, sons in law Paul and Enda, grandchildren Aislinn, Joseph and Conor, especially her best friend and neighbour Mrs Ann Ryan, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, great neighbours, friends and Fluffy the cat. And a special thanks to her doctor, nurses, Carers and the palliative care team for their kindness and care.        May her gentle soul rest in peace. Reposing on Wednesday in Treacys Funeral Home, Shinrone (R42E125) from 7 o’clock until 8.30 o’clock. Private removal on Thursday to St.Mary’s Church, Shinrone (R42 WT26) for Funeral mass at 1 o’clock followed by burial afterwards in Clareen Cemetery, Clareen, Birr. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, in lieu of flowers to Birr Community Nursing Unit Birr. John English, Fadden House, Carrig, Birr, Co Offaly formerly of Reask, Pallasgreen, Co. Limerick. June 13th, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Dearly beloved husband of Angela and father to Peter , Seán and his late daughter Mary. Sadly missed by his wife, sons, son in law, nieces and nephews. May he Rest In Peace. Reposing at Boyds Funeral Home, Birr (R42YF75) on Sunday evening from 5pm – 7pm. Removal on Monday morning to arrive at The Church of the Annunciation, Carrig for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock, followed by a private cremation. Margaret Fereday (née McGarry), Crescent Drive, Barton-on-Sea, Hampshire, and formerly of High Street, Birr, Co. Offaly, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the care of the staff of Lymington Hospital, Hampshire. Predeceased by her beloved husband Chris, parents Annie and William, sisters Lizzie and Nancier and brothers: Billy, Mickey, Larry and Paddy. Christina Doyle, Drumbane, Birr, Co. Offaly, passed away on June 9th, 2025. Deeply regretted by her loving daughter Lorraine, son-in-law Patrick, grandchildren; Rosaleen, Fono, Christina, Patrick and Johnny-Barney, her great-grandchildren; Patrick, Mary, Bridgie and Patrick, her sisters; Patricia, Bridgie, Lucy and Nancy, extended family, her special neighbours Johnny and Elizabeth Doyle and their family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Bridget (Bessie) Reynolds

The death has sadly occurred of Bridget (Bessie) Reynolds, 18, The Terrace, Crinkill, Birr, Co. Offaly. Bridget passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Bridget is predeceased by her beloved son James, her Mother Bridget and Father William, her sister’s Phill, Berr, and Jane and her brother’s William, Oliver, Kevin and Joe. Bridget will be forever loved and deeply missed by her loving son Thomas, daughters; Melissa, Rebecca, Majela, Catherine, Veronica, and Celina, her thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, her brothers, nieces and nephews, her extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace. Reposing at Boyd’s Funeral Home, Birr, on Saturday from 5pm. – 7pm. Returning to her family home thereafter. House private on Saturday night, however close friends of Bridget and neighbours are welcome to visit. John O'Shea

The death has occurred of John O’Shea, Barna, Dunkerrin, Birr, Co. Offaly. John died peacefully after a short illness in the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore, surrounded by his family and friends on June the 3rd 2025. Predeceased by his parents Charlie and Essie and his Brother in Law, Michael Loughnane. He will be greatly missed by his sister Mary Loughnane, Woodlands Park Birr, his nephew Michael, Ann,Charlie and Ella Loughnane, Lisheen Birr, Cousins on both the O’Shea and Douglas sides and a wide circle of friends and kind neighbours. May John’s gentle and kind soul, Rest in Peace. John will repose at St Cuimin’s Church Barna, Eircode E53WY09 on Friday the 6th of June from 4pm till 8pm. Funeral Mass at 12 noon on Saturday the 7th in St Cuimin’s Church, with Burial afterwards in the New Cemetery Dunkerrin. Ar dheis Dé go raibh an anam.
